Samsung Electronics announced on the 28th that it held the '2024 Win-Win Cooperation Day' event with about 200 partner companies at the Ramada Hotel in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province.

The event was attended by about 250 people, including Vice Chairman and CEO Han Jong-hee, key executives from Samsung Electronics and Samsung Display, and representatives of 202 member companies such as Kim Young-jae, chairman of the Partner Companies Council (Hyopseonghoe) and CEO of Daeduck Electronics. Win-Win Cooperation Day has been held since 2012. It is a forum for harmony between Samsung’s top management and the Hyopseonghoe chairpersons.

Vice Chairman Han said, "Although the business environment remains challenging this year, let us work together to improve quality-related processes and systems and clearly understand future trends so that their value can be delivered to customers."

He added, "The future manufacturing site will be an era where companies that secure ultra-connected, ultra-intelligent, and ultra-convergent manufacturing capabilities through AI-equipped robots will lead with infinite competitiveness. We ask partner companies to secure the foundation for sustainable growth based on foresight to prepare for the future, such as automation and unmanned operations."

Kim Young-jae, chairman of Hyopseonghoe, emphasized, "In the era of the AI revolution, change is the only way to survive. We must respond more agilely to changes in products, markets, and customers by reassessing strategies and reacting quickly."

He continued, "ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management is no longer a choice but an essential mission. Through the establishment of smart factories and low-carbon green management, we must develop environmentally friendly and safe workplaces to fulfill corporate social responsibility. We also ask that the fruits of win-win activities achieved by first-tier partners be extended to second- and third-tier partners."

Samsung Electronics and Samsung Display awarded 34 partner companies at the event. Among them, 26 companies received awards for innovation excellence, and 8 companies were recognized for ESG excellence.

'Intops,' which supplies mobile phone cases to Samsung Electronics, replaced manual assembly processes with unmanned automated lines and improved quality through AI product appearance inspection, earning the top innovation award.

'SI Flex,' which supplies flexible circuit boards for Samsung Display’s foldable display panels, developed sensors that detect contaminants affecting production yield (ratio of good products) in real time and received the top innovation award.

'Wiseol,' which supplies frequency conversion components for Samsung Electronics mobile phones, was recognized for environmental management achievements such as reducing greenhouse gas emissions through water reuse and received a special ESG award. 'Huosung,' which supplies specialty gases for semiconductors to Samsung Electronics’ DS (semiconductor) division, won a special ESG award for establishing eco-friendly factory infrastructure.

Samsung Electronics provides customized support focused on three areas: funding, technology, and manpower to its partner companies.

Since 2005, it has been the first domestic company to pay transaction amounts in cash to small and medium-sized partner companies. It also supports low-interest loans through the establishment of win-win funds and material funds. Since 2009, it has held 'Excellent Technology Briefings,' and since 2012, the 'Samsung Partner Company Recruitment Festival.'

As a result of continuous win-win activities, Samsung Electronics received the highest grade for 12 consecutive years in the '2023 Win-Win Growth Index Evaluation' selected by the Fair Trade Commission in September last year, becoming the first domestic company to achieve this.
