Hansangwon, Chairman of Gwangju Chamber of Commerce, "Will Lead Efforts to Revitalize the Local Economy"

On the 28th, the Gwangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry held the '23rd and 24th Chairman Jeong Chang-seon and 25th Chairman Han Sang-won Farewell and Inauguration Ceremony' in the 7th-floor main conference room.

The event was attended by about 300 people, including Kang Gi-jung, Mayor of Gwangju Metropolitan City; Park Chang-hwan, Deputy Governor for Political Affairs of Jeollanam-do; Lee Jeong-seon, Superintendent of Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education; heads of various institutions and organizations; members of the 24th and 25th Chambers of Commerce; businesspeople; and citizens.


In his inauguration speech, Chairman Han stated, "We will actively lead efforts to attract future industries and global companies to the site of the Gwangju Airport relocation, cooperate with the two major labor unions to establish an Industrial Peace Award, and focus on building a business-friendly city."


He continued, "We will provide policy support to member companies promoting RE100 (renewable energy), take the lead in revitalizing the local economy, and not forget to share with and work together with the local community through service and dedication."


Finally, he said, "We will elevate the Gwangju Chamber of Commerce to a core policy organization for the regional economy, encourage more local companies to participate in the Chamber, and do our best to ensure that the Gwangju Chamber of Commerce plays a leading role as a locomotive in revitalizing Gwangju's economy."


Meanwhile, Chairman Han is originally from Haenam-gun, Jeollanam-do, graduated from Gwangju Commercial High School and Chosun University with a degree in Business Administration, and has served the Gwangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry and regional economic development for over 20 years since being elected as a member of the Gwangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry in 2003.


He is also currently serving as the chairman of the board of directors at Honginhakwon Yeongsan Middle and High School, and has held various positions such as chairman of the Gwangju Community Chest of Korea, chairman of the Gwangju District Prosecutors' Office Crime Prevention Council, chairman of the Jeonnam Wrestling Association, and vice-chairman of the Jeollanam-do branch of the National Unification Advisory Council, continuously supporting and striving for the development of the local community in various fields.
