Zoom Internet announced on the 28th that it will change its company name to 'ESTaid Corp.'
This is the first name change in 13 years since the company was established as East MNS in 2009 and renamed Zoom Internet after merging with East Internet in 2012.
Along with the name change, ESTaid plans to lead the popularization of AI technology domestically and internationally by leveraging EastSoft Group's artificial intelligence (AI) technology resources and big data processing capabilities in line with its mid- to long-term business strategy.
The AID in ESTaid stands for a combination of 'AI' and 'Design,' embodying the mission to design users' AI experiences and provide tangible benefits to their lives.
In particular, the company will focus on improving AI user experience (UX) to enhance convenience for users utilizing AI technologies from group companies and abroad.
Furthermore, to accelerate performance improvement based on a fast decision-making structure, the company will shift from a co-CEO system to a sole CEO system under CEO Kim Nam-hyun.
Business and tech experts who can create synergy with CEO Kim have also been newly recruited.
Director Son Seung-woo, who oversaw business development and advertising at 'Polaris Office' and 'AdPopcorn,' has joined as a business executive, and Director Chae Soo-im, who led mobile transition and platform development at 'Munpia' and 'Peter Pan's Good Room Search,' has joined as a technology executive.
Going forward, under CEO Kim's leadership, ESTaid plans to restructure the portal service Zoom.com, launch new services, and expand partnerships beyond group companies to establish a foundation for new growth.
CEO Kim said, "Based on the mission to 'aid' anyone to easily understand and handle AI, we will strengthen our role as an open portal where users and partners can enjoy the benefits of AI together," adding, "We will create a healthy business ecosystem where everyone grows together through AI."
