The Army conducted a combined Republic of Korea (ROK)-U.S. joint combined arms live-fire exercise with the U.S. Marine Corps at the Korea Combat Training Center (KCTC) in Inje, Gangwon Province.

According to the military on the 28th, the exercise, which took place from the 19th to this day, involved approximately 2,000 soldiers from the Army's 25th Infantry Division Haeryong Brigade, 1st Corps 2nd Armored Brigade, and 203rd Rapid Response Brigade, as well as troops from the U.S. Marine Corps 3rd Division. They engaged in combat against a specialized opposing force regiment of about 1,600 personnel belonging to the KCTC. More than 230 pieces of equipment, including tanks, armored vehicles, self-propelled artillery, helicopters, and unmanned aerial vehicles, were also deployed in the exercise.

According to the Army, this is the first time the U.S. Marine Corps has participated in the ROK-U.S. joint combined arms live-fire exercise. The U.S. Marine Corps 3rd Division is stationed at Futenma, Okinawa, Japan, and is one of the U.S. reinforcement forces that would be deployed first to the Korean Peninsula in the event of an emergency.
