Haeundae Office of Education Launches Hope Education District Public Contest Project

Support for Strengthening School Autonomy and Activating Self-Governance Activities

Busan Haeundae Office of Education (Superintendent Won Mi-kyung) will launch the Haeundae-gu and Suyeong-gu Hope Education District projects in earnest from April, targeting schools selected through a public contest.

On the 28th, the Haeundae Office of Education announced that the project aims to strengthen school autonomy and educational effectiveness, support teachers' professional teaching capabilities, and promote student cultural activities to revitalize autonomous activities.

In this public contest project, 22 teams were selected for the ‘Haedajeong Dreaming Together’ program, 9 schools including Millak Elementary School for the ‘Regional Connection Schools,’ 3 schools including Baesan Elementary School for the ‘Youth Chamber Orchestra,’ and 36 schools within Suyeong-gu for ‘Student Autonomous Activities.’

Among these, the Haeundae-gu Hope Education District project ‘Haedajeong Dreaming Together’ is operated by dividing it into ‘Student Club Activities’ for restoring students’ self-esteem and ‘Teacher Club Activities’ for strengthening teachers’ guidance capabilities.

This year, 22 teams from 19 schools in Haeundae-gu will participate, carrying out activities aimed at creating a joyful school atmosphere and fostering proper character and artistic sensibility through experience-centered club activities.

The Suyeong-gu Hope Education District’s ‘Youth Chamber Orchestra’ plans to participate not only in small concerts within schools but also in numerous local music concerts.

Won Mi-kyung, Superintendent of Haeundae Office of Education, said, “This public contest project, which will showcase distinctive educational activities at each school, will greatly help students develop pride in their schools and establish cooperative relationships among school members. We will do our best to support customized educational projects according to the needs of each school.”
