Formation of 30 Committee Members Through Open Recruitment and Recommendations
Planned Activities Include Reviewing Resident Proposal Projects
Busan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Ha Yun-su) announced on the 28th that it will publicly recruit members for the "7th Resident Participatory Budget Committee," which aims to enhance the transparency and fairness of education finance management through resident participation.
Since the first committee was established in 2012, the newly formed 7th Resident Participatory Budget Committee in 2024 will engage in various activities such as reviewing resident-proposed projects during budget formulation and providing opinions on budget allocation directions.
A total of 30 members will be recruited this time, including 18 through public recruitment, 10 by recommendation, and 2 by appointment, with a term of two years starting from May 1.
Among them, 16 residents from autonomous districts and counties and 2 members from non-profit private organizations will be selected through public recruitment. If the number of applicants exceeds the recruitment quota, residents will be selected by lottery, and non-profit private organizations will prioritize nominees from underprivileged groups.
Busan citizens and non-profit private organizations wishing to participate can submit their application forms and related documents to the Budget Planning Division of the Busan Office of Education via email, fax, mail, or in person by April 17.
Ha Yun-su, Superintendent of Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, said, "The Office of Education operates the Resident Participatory Budget System to strengthen the transparency and democracy of education finance management," and added, "We ask for the interest and participation of those who will play a role in the leap and development of Busan education."
