20 Events This Year with 527 Athletes and Officials Participating... Wishing Success in the Competition
Jin Byeong-yeong, the mayor of Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam, visited the training sites of various sports teams on the 27th to encourage the athletes who are focusing on training ahead of the 63rd Gyeongsangnam-do Residents Sports Festival.
Hamyang-gun is aiming for a top position among counties with 527 athletes and officials participating in 20 sports at the Residents Sports Festival, which will be held in the Miryang-si area for four days from April 19 to 22. The teams are engaged in intensive training for each sport.
County Governor Jin Byeong-yeong is encouraging the athletes of the 63rd Gyeongnam Provincial Sports Festival.
That afternoon, Mayor Jin visited the Sports Park 4th Baseball Field to encourage the baseball team, who were sweating it out in the final stages of training for the Residents Sports Festival.
He then visited the training sites of the jokgu, taekwondo, badminton, judo, and golf teams consecutively, encouraging the athletes and delivering messages of support to boost their morale.
Mayor Jin said, “I appreciate the passion of the athletes who have been practicing hard for the competition, and I ask everyone to be careful not to get injured during the remaining preparation period.” He added, “I hope you do your best to fully demonstrate the skills you have prepared for the competition.”
Chairman Ahn Byeong-myeong of the Sports Council said, “There is a saying in sports that sweat does not lie, and seeing the athletes training hard makes me believe that their efforts will not be in vain. I look forward to seeing the results at this Residents Sports Festival.”
Starting with a visit to the ground golf team on the 19th and encouraging the ssireum team on the 22nd, Mayor Jin plans to continue visiting the training sites of the 20 sports teams participating in the Residents Sports Festival to encourage the athletes and provide unwavering support.
