Completion of Basic Plan Establishment and Feasibility Study for Development Project Near Seobu-gwon 77 Coastal Road
Wando-gun, Jeollanam-do, has completed the establishment of the basic plan and feasibility study for the "Southern Region Wide-area Tourism Development Project" organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
According to the county on the 28th, the "Southern Region Wide-area Tourism Development Project" will be carried out in three phases over 10 years until 2032.
The first phase, the "Coastal Road Tourism Scenic Spot Project," will invest a total of 15.3 billion KRW over four years from this year to 2027 to create tourist information centers, mini libraries, and simple campgrounds at Miso Park, Gaetbaram Park, and Sunset Park, which are located along the 77 coastal roads in the western region.
Additionally, a "Coastal Deck Road" will be constructed along the path connecting Wando Arboretum and Cheonghae Port Haesin set site to offer views of the beautiful coastal scenery.
After passing the Jeollanam-do investment review in November last year and establishing the basic plan, the county plans to commission detailed design services for the construction of a visitor center and the coastal deck road.
Upon completion of the project, it is expected to contribute not only to attracting tourists by linking with surrounding tourist sites but also to revitalizing marine tourism, including the Marine Healing Center.
A county official said, "We will do our best to successfully integrate distinctive tourism content so that the Coastal Road Tourism Scenic Spot Project can serve as a foundation for Wando to leap forward as the marine tourism hub of the southern region."
