EBS CSAT Textbooks and Lectures Linked for Questions
Mandatory Korean History Exam... 30% Short Answer in Math
The 2025 College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT), scheduled for November 14 this year, will be administered in connection with EBS CSAT textbooks and lectures. In particular, the government’s policy is to increase the sense of connection by focusing on concepts and principles that are important in the curriculum.
The basic framework is not significantly different from last year. It is divided into Korean, Mathematics, English, Korean History, Inquiry (Social Studies, Science, Vocational), and Second Foreign Language & Hanja sections, and all test takers must take the Korean History section. The other sections can be taken in whole or in part according to the test taker's choice. The Korean and Mathematics sections follow a 'common subject + elective subject' structure, where the common subject is taken by all, and one elective subject must be chosen from each section.
The question types are multiple-choice with five options, but the Mathematics section includes 30% short-answer questions (to be written on the answer sheet). The point allocation per question varies considering the difficulty, time required to solve, importance, and level of thinking. The Korean, English, Korean History, and Inquiry (Social Studies, Science, Vocational) sections have questions worth 2 to 3 points, Mathematics questions are worth 2 to 4 points, and the Second Foreign Language & Hanja section questions are worth 1 to 2 points.
The Korean and English sections will utilize passages and materials from various topics based on the scope of the test. The Inquiry section consists of Social Studies, Science, and Vocational Inquiry areas. Test takers can freely choose from Social Studies and Science Inquiry areas, but to take the Vocational Inquiry section, they must have completed at least 86 credits in the industry-demand customized and specialized high school specialized subject II curriculum (for those who graduated before March 1, 2020, the vocational specialized subject curriculum) (80 credits for those who graduated before March 1, 2016).
In the Social Studies and Science Inquiry sections, test takers can select up to two subjects from 17 available subjects. In the Vocational Inquiry section, up to two subjects can be selected from six subjects, and if two subjects are chosen, the specialized common subject 'Successful Vocational Life' must be selected mandatorily.
In the Second Foreign Language & Hanja section, one subject can be selected from nine subjects. Test booklets will be produced with covers for each session and section. The first session Korean section, the second session Mathematics section, and the fourth session Social Studies, Science, and Vocational Inquiry sections, as well as the fifth session Second Foreign Language & Hanja section booklets, will be produced and provided as a single combined booklet per section.
