Mokpo Chamber of Commerce and Industry Holds Briefing on Serious Accident Punishment Act

Support for Industrial Accident Prevention and Legal Compliance

The Mokpo Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Chairman Jeong Hyuntaek) held a nationwide explanatory meeting on the Serious Accidents Punishment Act in collaboration with the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency on the 27th.


According to the Mokpo Chamber of Commerce and Industry on the 28th, the explanatory meeting was held with the attendance of about 60 people, including representatives of member companies in the jurisdiction and executives and employees in charge of safety and health management.

On that day, Kim Songhwan, head of the Jeonnam Regional Headquarters of the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency, gave a presentation on the theme of "Two Years Since the Enforcement of the Serious Accidents Punishment Act, Corporate Safety and Health Management Measures and Government Support Systems," covering topics such as △ spreading and establishing a safety and health culture △ response measures to the Serious Accidents Punishment Act △ methods for conducting risk assessments and accident cases and prevention measures △ and building a safety and health management system.


A representative of the Mokpo Chamber of Commerce and Industry stated, "It has been two years since the Serious Accidents Punishment Act was enforced, and from this year, it has been fully expanded to workplaces with fewer than 50 employees, increasing the burden on business owners," adding, "We held the explanatory meeting to support member companies in preventing industrial accidents and complying with the law."


The Mokpo Chamber of Commerce and Industry plans to continue its efforts to promote the prevention of serious accidents to minimize confusion and side effects caused by the expanded enforcement of the Serious Accidents Punishment Act and to ensure that member companies have appropriate response capabilities.
