Guro-gu Anyangcheon and Dorimcheon Embankment Cherry Blossom Spots Gain Popularity

Guro-gu (District Mayor Moon Heon-il) has started promoting local cherry blossom spots such as Anyangcheon and Dorimcheon ahead of the early April cherry blossom blooming season.

Along the embankments of Anyangcheon and Dorimcheon in Guro-gu, 1,677 king cherry trees (Prunus yedoensis) have been planted, making the area a notable cherry blossom destination in Seoul.

For the convenience of visitors enjoying the spring scenery, the district has devoted considerable effort over the past four years to maintaining and improving the walking paths.

First, the Dorimcheon embankment path, which was previously disconnected from Sinjeonggyo Bridge to Sindorim Station, was extended and widened to create a more pleasant walking environment.

River cleanup activities were also completed in line with the warmer weather.

After the cherry blossom blooming period ends, a full survey of the trees will be conducted, and maintenance work on damaged trees will be carried out to ensure even more abundant cherry blossoms each year.

A Guro-gu official stated, “Since the cherry blossoms bloom for a short period, we hope people will check the blooming schedule in advance and enjoy the spring atmosphere,” adding, “We will continue to strive to create a pleasant park environment that adds happiness to daily life.”
