Release of Frame-type Speaker 'Music Frame'
Replaceable Desired Photos and Panels
Samsung Electronics has introduced the frame-type speaker 'Music Frame (LS60D)'. This product targets young consumers who are highly interested in interior design. Samsung Electronics plans to maintain its global No. 1 position in the soundbar market through this unprecedented new audio appliance.
On the 26th, Samsung Electronics held a briefing at its press room in Taepyeong-ro, Jung-gu, Seoul, to explain the features of the 'Music Frame'.
The Music Frame is a speaker with a detachable photo frame that allows users to customize the front panel like a picture frame by inserting their desired images. Through Samsung.com’s 'Custom Studio,' users can create their own gallery by reflecting their personal tastes in the art panel. It features a compact size of 35.3 cm in width and 36.5 cm in height.
Choi Sae-hye, head of Samsung Electronics’ Visual Display (VD) Business Division, explained, "Looking at general consumer needs, interest in interior design that encompasses the entire space is increasing. We launched this product to meet the needs of young consumers who want products that can be changed and used to suit themselves."
Its performance as an audio device is also excellent. The Music Frame was developed and tuned at Samsung Audio Lab, and users can experience powerful sound output of 120 watts from a 2.0 channel stereo, 3-way speaker equipped with 'Dolby Atmos'.
It supports wireless and convenient connection without spatial constraints through Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and also supports voice commands via Google Assistant and device control through SmartThings Hub. When linked with the 2024 Samsung TV models compatible with Music Frame and Q-Symphony, sound is output simultaneously from both the TV and Music Frame, providing a more immersive viewing experience with overwhelming surround sound.
Choi emphasized, "Although it is a wireless speaker, we created a new category within the audio product range as a lifestyle group following soundbars. The trend of valuing interior design along with sound is expected to continue."
Yong Seok-woo, president of Samsung Electronics’ Visual Display Business Division, said, "We actively accepted consumers’ opinions that design is important when purchasing audio products and introduced the Music Frame, which reflects both sophisticated design and sound quality. We will continue to lead the market with innovative products that meet diverse consumer needs and lifestyles."
Meanwhile, the domestic retail price of the Music Frame is 599,000 KRW. It is released in only one size, and depending on market response, the release of products in various sizes will also be considered. The Music Frame is scheduled to be launched worldwide by April to May.
