Public Officials Ethics Committee Discloses Asset Declaration Details

On the 28th, the Government Official Ethics Committee disclosed the '2024 Regular Asset Change Report' through the official gazette.
According to the report, Minister Lee's assets decreased by 4,093,680,000 KRW from the assets disclosed in March last year, reporting a total of 10,776,350,000 KRW due to a reduction in deposits and other assets.
Specifically, an apartment of 148.86㎡ in Jamwon-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul, jointly owned with his spouse, was reported at 1,945,000,000 KRW.
The largest portion was deposits under his name, reported at 5,750,880,000 KRW.
Last year, Minister Lee reported deposits of 10,427,390,000 KRW, which has nearly halved.
Regarding the significant decrease in deposits, the Ministry of Science and ICT explained that Minister Lee received investment funds from a patent litigation specialized investment company during the patent lawsuit process related to the world's first 3D semiconductor technology 'Bulk FinFET' developed by him, and this time he returned the funds.
Instead, government bonds under his name increased by 726,630,000 KRW as reported.
The minister's spouse also held deposits of 409,420,000 KRW in banks and insurance companies.
Lee Chang-yoon, the 1st Vice Minister of the Ministry of Science and ICT, reported assets of 1,914,410,000 KRW, which is 451,570,000 KRW less than last year.
Vice Minister Lee reported an apartment in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, jointly owned with his spouse, valued at 1,955,230,000 KRW, and deposits of 143,890,000 KRW under the names of himself, his spouse, and children.
Additionally, he reported debts amounting to 212,300,000 KRW.

Kang Do-hyun, the 2nd Vice Minister of the Ministry of Science and ICT, reported assets of 1,903,730,000 KRW, an increase of 28,520,000 KRW compared to last year.
Except for an apartment in Sejong City under his spouse's name valued at 363,000,000 KRW and automobiles under his name totaling 38,800,000 KRW, most of his assets were deposits (1,501,930,000 KRW) held by himself and his spouse. The value of the Sejong City apartment decreased by 134,000,000 KRW from last year.
Ryu Kwang-jun, Director of the Science and Technology Innovation Headquarters at the Ministry of Science and ICT, reported assets of 15,256,000,000 KRW, an increase of 962,420,000 KRW from last year.
Director Ryu's total assets rank eighth among central government officials subject to disclosure.
Director Ryu reported securities totaling 11,051,730,000 KRW, including 1,790,000 shares of Heungkuk, a family company, held under his name, his spouse's, and eldest son's names.
In addition, Director Ryu reported a pre-sale right for an apartment in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, valued at 1,459,270,000 KRW, a leasehold right for an apartment in Seocho-gu, Seoul, valued at 1,500,000,000 KRW, and deposits of 1,102,530,000 KRW held by himself and his spouse.
