Launch of the Election Countermeasures Committee
Jo In-cheol, the Democratic Party candidate for Seo-gu (Gap), Gwangju Metropolitan City, pledged a "landslide victory" in the general election.
On the 27th, Jo held the "Democratic Party Regime Judgment and People's Victory Gwangju Seo-gu Gap Election Countermeasures Committee Launch Ceremony" and vowed to win the April 10 general election.
About 300 people from various sectors attended the launch ceremony, including Democratic Party candidates Ando-geol from Dongnam-eul, Yang Bu-nam from Seogu-eul, Jeong Jun-ho from Bukgu-gap, Jeon Jin-suk from Bukgu-eul, and Min Hyeong-bae from Gwangsan-eul, making it a grand event.
The "Regime Judgment and People's Victory Gwangju Seo-gu Gap Election Countermeasures Committee" appointed Park Kyung-rin, former executive director of the Gwangju Citizens' Coalition, as the overall election committee chairperson, with Seo Dae-seok, former Seo-gu mayor, Kim Dae-hyun, director of the Wi-min Research Institute, and Kim Kwang-seop, CEO of Suha Housing, serving as co-chairs.
Candidate Jo stated, "April 10 is the day to judge the Yoon Seok-yeol regime," and expressed his determination to "achieve an overwhelming victory in the general election to end prosecutorial dictatorship and lead regime change."
He also pledged, "I will strive to develop Gwangju and Seo-gu," and promised, "I will surely repay with victory."
Meanwhile, Jo In-cheol, the Democratic Party candidate, hails from Yeonggwang, Jeollanam-do. He graduated from Gwangju Seoseok High School and Korea University with a degree in Spanish Language and Literature. He earned a master's degree in economics from the same university's graduate school and a doctorate in policy studies from the University of Birmingham in the UK. Having passed the 40th Administrative Examination, he is recognized as a leading budget expert, having served as director of the Total Project Cost Management Division, Cultural Budget Division, and Agriculture, Forestry, and Maritime Budget Division at the Ministry of Strategy and Finance. He is also praised for his experience in autonomous administration, having served as the Vice Mayor for Culture and Economy of Gwangju Metropolitan City during the 7th local government term.
