Dongseo University Selected as Startup Incubation Institution for Idea Commercialization Support Project

The Idea Commercialization Support Project hosted by the Korea Creative Content Agency is a program aimed at discovering and nurturing ideas in the content field, supporting commercialization and startups, and creating a pre-startup ecosystem.

Over the past three years, Dongseo University has secured eight projects related to startup support from local governments and central government ministries, receiving a budget of 4 billion KRW to nurture 123 startup companies.

The newly selected ‘VR/AR Startup Specialized Pre-Startup Support Program’ will recruit pre-startup entrepreneurs in the content field from April 5 to April 26, select 10 teams, and support them with a startup incubation program including startup education, dedicated mentors, business model (BM) advancement, and MVP production until the end of November.

Professor Lee Hyun-dong of the Department of Computer Engineering, the project leader, stated, “Through support for pre-startup entrepreneurs centered on content, which is Dongseo University’s specialized field, we will strive to develop the regional content industry and create settlement-type jobs.”

Hwang Ki-hyun, Director of Industry-Academic Cooperation and head of the LINC 3.0 Project Group, said, “We will generously provide various supports such as on-campus startup company residency, shared spaces, and shared equipment to pre-startup entrepreneurs related to VR/AR content so that they can focus on technology development and commercialization.”
