A cultural center and a walking trail for young workers will be established in the Anseong 3rd General Industrial Complex in Anseong-si, Gyeonggi-do.

On the 27th, Anseong City announced that its environmental improvement project for the Anseong 3rd Industrial Complex, which the city is promoting, was selected for the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy's '2024 Industrial Complex Environmental Improvement Project,' securing 8 billion KRW in national funding.

Accordingly, the city plans to invest 16.2 billion KRW to build a 'Youth Cultural Center' in the aging Anseong 3rd General Industrial Complex and implement a 'Beautiful Street' project with a budget of 5 billion KRW.

The 'Youth Cultural Center' will be constructed as a three-story building with a total floor area of 2,000㎡ based on demand surveys of young workers and others. The center will include sports and cultural facilities as well as a 'Mental Healing Center' to support the mental health of young workers.

The 'Beautiful Street' will be created along a 1.2 km section from Donggwang Apartment to the industrial complex. It will feature walking paths, scenic streets, and electric vehicle charging stations. The city aims to complete design and administrative procedures by June next year, start construction in July, and complete the project by December 2027.

Kim Bora, mayor of Anseong City, said, "The expansion of convenience and welfare facilities lacking in the industrial complex and the creation of a beautiful street will improve the living conditions for workers and local residents," adding, "We will use this public project as a stepping stone to promote more projects to improve the environment of industrial complexes within the city."
