Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon urged the 28 public institutions under the province to deliver tangible results that residents can feel. He also announced plans to introduce artificial intelligence (AI) throughout the provincial administration.
At the 'Open Provincial Government Meeting' held at the provincial office on the 27th, Governor Kim said, "The 28 public institutions under the province employ 7,000 staff members and manage a budget exceeding 8 trillion won, making them a very important pillar of the provincial administration." He emphasized, "We have established various guidelines to guarantee the autonomy of public institutions, and now is the time to produce results that residents can truly experience."
He particularly pointed out, "If necessary, we will take measures based on results and performance. I have repeatedly said that a term of office is valid only when the assigned tasks are properly carried out." He criticized, "When institutions put up barriers between each other and act as if their own work is all that matters, it is like running on a treadmill, sweating profusely but not moving forward even a single step."

Governor Kim also stated, "We plan to enhance the efficiency of the provincial administration based on AI," promising, "We will strive to position Gyeonggi Province at the forefront of AI industries and industries based on AI, as well as economic revitalization."
He continued, "After attending the (Swiss) Davos Forum last January, I said that Gyeonggi Province should become AI native," and urged, "I hope executives, heads of public institutions, and employees will individually try to integrate AI into their work without rushing for big ambitions immediately."
He added, "I am starting by putting an AI speech secretary created with Chat GPT on my tablet," and encouraged, "Let us not fear change and make efforts to incorporate AI into even the smallest parts of our work."
In conclusion, Governor Kim said, "As the medical strike is prolonged, the role of public medical centers is becoming more important," emphasizing, "I hope Gyeonggi Province will actively respond to prevent any harm to our residents caused by trial and error or difficulties arising from the central government's implementation without a precise vision or plan."
