Lunch Invitation for 42 Foreign Workers
"All Efforts to Ensure a Triumphant Return
Nothing Is More Precious Than Your Safety"
Chairman Kwon Oh-gap of HD Hyundai encouraged foreign workers at the shipyard site on the 27th.
HD Hyundai announced that on this day, Chairman Kwon Oh-gap and other key executives invited foreign workers to the HD Hyundai Heavy Industries Guest House in Ulsan for a luncheon meeting.
The event was attended by 42 foreign workers from seven countries, including Vietnam and Uzbekistan, working at HD Hyundai Heavy Industries and HD Hyundai Mipo partner companies.
Alongside Chairman Kwon Oh-gap were top executives from HD Hyundai’s shipbuilding affiliates, including Lee Sang-gyun and Noh Jin-yul, presidents of HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, and Kim Hyung-kwan, president of HD Hyundai Mipo.
Chairman Kwon dined with the foreign workers, listening to their suggestions and comforting them regarding the difficulties of living in a foreign country.
The foreign workers expressed their gratitude, saying, "Thanks to the company’s various support measures, such as interpretation assistance covering daily life and administrative matters and Korean language education to improve job understanding, adapting has become much easier."
HD Hyundai Heavy Industries was the first in the industry to establish an in-house Foreign Support Center. It staffs interpreters fluent in eight languages to assist communication for foreign workers.
Customized global meal plans are also provided for workers who do not prefer Korean food or cannot eat certain ingredients for religious reasons.
Safety education materials in native languages are produced and distributed, and special safety training is conducted in addition to mandatory training, showing great dedication to ensuring the safety of foreign workers.

Chairman Kwon said, "The company will do everything possible to ensure you return home healthy and successful when you reunite with your families," and urged, "Please work with the mindset that nothing is more precious than your safety."
Rustamjon, a worker from Uzbekistan attending the event, said, "The company makes great efforts for foreign workers," and added, "I will do my best to adapt well and help each other."
HD Hyundai Heavy Industries is working to eliminate prejudice and stereotypes against foreign workers. In December last year, it produced the musical 'Joseon-ui Ttuya,' depicting the adaptation stories of foreign workers in Ulsan, and provided free viewing for local residents, leading efforts to improve awareness of foreign workers.
