Candidate Kim Seong-hwan stated, "The growth of the Dongnam-eul area, which has various potentials, is stagnating, and it is necessary to prepare a new growth engine to overcome this. To this end, I have prepared pledges related to the culture and tourism sectors that can make the most of Dongnam-eul's characteristics."

He continued, "In particular, to attract more people to visit and enjoy the Dongnam-eul area, we plan to develop Gwangjucheon as a space for youth and families as well as a landmark of Gwangju. We will build an integrated tourism belt by connecting nearby tourist resources centered around Gwangjucheon, and furthermore, by installing a Ferris wheel and hot air balloons, we will make it a hot place representing Honam."

Additionally, he said, "We will promote an integrated tourism belt connecting Yangnim, Sajik, Chungjang, and Dongmyeong, create an Asia Culture Town, revitalize Sajik Park, restore Jisan Amusement Park in a modern way, and attract a branch of the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art. Through this, we will establish a foundation to make the Dongnam-eul area a global cultural mecca for k-culture."

Candidate Kim Seong-hwan appealed to the citizens of Gwangju and the residents of Dongnam-eul, saying, "I will continue to be a policymaker who consistently prepares proper policies to develop Dongnam-eul. Please choose me, Kim Seong-hwan, who works hard for the region."
