Dongmyeong University Department of Social Welfare and Silla Learning Sharing Community Sign Industry-Academic Cooperation Agreement

The Department of Social Welfare at Dongmyung University (President Jeon Ho-hwan) signed an industry-academic cooperation agreement with the Silla Baeum Nanum Community Corporation on March 26.

Under the value of nurturing creative talents to prepare for future society, the Silla Baeum Nanum Community is realizing educational and cultural welfare by bridging educational gaps through elementary and secondary school education projects.


It is a nonprofit corporation and a social enterprise that promotes psychological and emotional stability for local residents through individual and group counseling. It operates the Jure Da Together Care Center, Dongsam Da Together Care Center, Sasang-gu Youth Counseling Welfare Center, and Busan Youth Activity Promotion Center, supporting the holistic growth of children and adolescents.


Through this industry-academic cooperation, mutual support will be provided for the operation programs of child and youth institutions, including field training and volunteer activities for social welfare students.


The Da Together Care Centers operate with the vision of reducing blind spots in care for elementary school students, emphasizing the national responsibility for care from a policy perspective.


The Youth Counseling Welfare Center supports local youth through a youth safety net, and the Busan Youth Activity Promotion Center supports the establishment and implementation of youth policies.


Choi Young-gyu, Chairman of the Silla Baeum Nanum Community, said, “We will contribute to educational and cultural welfare and the emotional stability of the local community and support the healthy growth of children and adolescents.”


Professor Park Seon-sook, head of the department, said, “We will strive to develop the capabilities of students to provide care for children in the local community and active programs for youth.”


The Department of Social Welfare at Dongmyung University operates a specialized curriculum to enable students to obtain certifications as social workers and youth counselors, fostering welfare experts for the local community.
