Certified Recognition in 104 Countries Worldwide
SK Innovation Environmental Science and Technology Institute has been recognized as an internationally accredited institution for testing the presence of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic products. Going forward, affiliated companies will be able to directly test the safety of related products they produce and sell. The test results will be recognized in 104 countries.
On the 27th, SK Innovation Environmental Science and Technology Institute announced that it had been accredited as an international testing institution for the 'RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive)' by the Korea Laboratory Accreditation Scheme (KOLAS) under the National Institute of Technology and Standards, Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.
RoHS is an international standard guideline established by the European Union (EU) in 2006 to restrict the use of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic products.
SK Innovation Environmental Science and Technology Institute has obtained accredited testing qualifications for 14 standards related to 10 RoHS hazardous substances. Manufacturers and component companies can inform consumers of product safety through results from internationally accredited testing institutions.

The 10 RoHS hazardous substances are lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBB), polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE), di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP), butyl benzyl phthalate (BBP), dibutyl phthalate (DBP), and diisobutyl phthalate (DIBP).
Manufacturers and component companies of electrical and electronic products prove compliance with RoHS standards through internationally accredited testing institutions and notify consumers of product safety.
RoHS test results designated by KOLAS are mutually recognized in 104 countries that are members of the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC).
Products tested domestically and issued test certificates also hold equivalent international validity and credibility when exported.
