The Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters is holding the "1st Life Safety Poster Contest" to raise awareness about everyday life safety accidents.
Any elementary school student in Gyeonggi-do (including general, multicultural, and disabled students) can create a poster on one of 10 life safety accident themes (excluding fire prevention), such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation, traffic accidents, wild animals, mountain accidents, and water play, and submit it to the nearest fire station from April 1 to 30.
The Fire and Disaster Headquarters will select winning works through an internal review and award certificates.
Jo Sun-ho, head of the Fire and Disaster Headquarters, said, "We planned the life safety poster contest for the first time to lead the formation of a public consensus on preventing life safety accidents," adding, "We hope this will be an opportunity to prevent life safety accidents and raise awareness of safety culture through children's creative ideas."
Earlier, since December last year, the Fire and Disaster Headquarters has been holding a children's fire prevention poster contest, the first nationwide to accept works from children of multicultural families and disabled children, as well as children benefiting from Gyeonggi Fire's representative neighborly love project, 'Warm Companion Gyeonggi 119,' and has been touring exhibitions throughout the Gyeonggi area.
