Ulsan City and Technopark Support Project for Advanced Joint Production Equipment of Auto Parts

Secured 1.6 Billion KRW in National Funding, Total Project Cost 3.1 Billion KRW

Establishing Shared Equipment Utilizing SMEs in Key Industries

Ulsan City and Ulsan Technopark have secured 1.6 billion KRW in national funding to embark on the Technopark production equipment advancement project.


On the 27th, Ulsan City announced that it was finally selected for the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' '2024 Technopark Production Equipment Advancement Support Project.'


This project involves a total budget of 3.1 billion KRW (1.6 billion KRW national funds, 1 billion KRW local funds, and 500 million KRW from Ulsan Technopark) to upgrade equipment that can be jointly used by small and medium-sized enterprises related to key industries such as the automotive industry.


Ulsan Technopark has been supporting more than 500 companies annually by utilizing already established equipment for material analysis, parts quality, and reliability assurance in key industries such as automotive.


Through this project, outdated existing equipment will be improved, and three new pieces of equipment will be installed to operate a total of 12 devices, including a solar simulation complex environmental tester needed by upstream and downstream companies in the regional key industries.


An official from Ulsan City stated, “Through this project, we plan to establish a technical support system to discover low-carbon technology demands related to the advancement of key industries and the fostering of future new industries, strengthen technical support capabilities, and enhance production competitiveness.” He added, “At the same time, we will work to resolve difficulties faced by local SMEs that cannot afford expensive equipment, create jobs, and respond swiftly to rapidly changing industrial trends.”
