Utilizing Competent Educational Human Resources in the Community to Conduct Various Educational Programs
Expanding Target Institutions to Include Local Childcare Facilities Such as Community Child Centers Starting This Year

Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul (Mayor Ilpyeong Lee) will operate the 'Our Village Education Mentor Group' as part of the 2024 Dongdaemun Future Education District project.

The 'Our Village Education Mentor Group' is a project where capable educational human resources in the community collaborate with local educational facilities to conduct educational programs related to ▲curriculum linkage (excluding English and math) ▲culture, arts, and sports ▲career and occupation ▲the Fourth Industrial Revolution, providing education in various fields to elementary, middle, and high school students in the area. This has resulted in very high satisfaction among the connected educational facilities.

Until last year, the Education Mentor Group conducted education only in schools, but considering the increasing demand for care education, this year education will also be provided at local child care facilities such as community child centers and neighborhood care centers. The district expects that by expanding the target institutions, it will offer more diverse programs to students and contribute to resolving educational blind spots.

Mayor Ilpyeong Lee of Dongdaemun-gu said, "Through this program, I hope students receive more diverse and creative education in various spaces," and added, "We will spare no support in the education sector to improve the local educational environment so that children can nurture their dreams and grow up properly."

Dongdaemun-gu plans to promote various Dongdaemun Future Education District projects to cultivate future talent capabilities of local students, including ▲educational cooperation projects with the Eastern Education Support Office ▲our hometown experiential activities with the community ▲children's song contests ▲support for youth autonomous club activities.
