Entering the Home Fan Market for This Summer
New Window Air Conditioner Models Also in Preparation
Guiturami has entered a state of readiness targeting the summer market this year. Guiturami is known as a boiler company with a strong perception that winter is the peak season. However, this year, it plans to expand its business area by consecutively launching new home cooling appliances for summer use.
On the 27th, Guiturami announced plans to release electric fans ahead of this summer. This is the first time Guiturami is launching home electric fans. Electric fans have already been added to the seasonal appliances category of 'Guiturami Mall,' the direct online shopping mall opened last year. Although the section is currently empty, it is expected that products will be introduced and sold on this page soon after their release.
New window-type air conditioners will also be released this year. Guiturami first launched a window-type air conditioner in 2020. It sold 10,000 units within a month of release, establishing itself in the market. Since then, it has introduced improved new products, and the window-type air conditioner released last year gained popularity by significantly increasing cooling efficiency while greatly reducing operating noise. With an energy consumption efficiency rating of Grade 1, it helps reduce cooling costs, and when operating in sleep mode, it runs quietly at about 33 dB, which is quieter than a library, aiding restful sleep during summer.
Guiturami's introduction of home cooling appliances is a strategy to expand its business from B2B (business-to-business) based on its technological capabilities to B2C (business-to-consumer). While Guiturami is typically associated with heating, it is actually a specialized company in heating and cooling air conditioning. It enhanced its cooling technology by acquiring Beomyang Cooling Industry in 2006, Shinseong Engineering in 2008, and Century in 2009.
Guiturami Beomyang Cooling provides refrigeration and air conditioning equipment for semiconductor factories, cooling towers for power plants, and refrigeration units for cold storage warehouses. Shinseong Engineering supplies air conditioning systems for semiconductor factories and essential dry room and clean room systems for secondary battery manufacturing environments. Century, a refrigeration and air conditioning system specialist, also manufactures commercial air conditioners. Guiturami explains that it possesses technological capabilities in refrigeration and air conditioning to the extent that it develops industrial heating and cooling air conditioning systems independently and supplies them worldwide. Sales in Guiturami's cooling sector have already surpassed those in heating.
An industry insider said, "Guiturami's cooling affiliates have mainly operated in the B2B sector so far," adding, "since their cooling technology is recognized in the industrial market, it is expected that they will also stand out in the home appliance market with products such as electric fans and window-type air conditioners."
