Chairman Choi Yoon-beom Purchases Additional 14,324 Shares of Korea Zinc Over Four Days

630 million won worth

Choi Yoon-beom, chairman of Korea Zinc, purchased 3.8 billion KRW worth of Korea Zinc shares in the stock market.


Korea Zinc disclosed on the 26th that Chairman Choi bought 8,727 shares (0.04%) on the 21st and 22nd. Chairman Choi's stake in Korea Zinc increased from 1.78% to 1.82%. Although his direct stake is in the 1% range, including friendly shares, it exceeds 33%.


Chairman Choi also purchased 5,597 shares (0.03%) of Korea Zinc for about 2.5 billion KRW on the 18th and 19th. He bought additional shares within a day. This is the first time in about three months since last October that Chairman Choi has newly acquired Korea Zinc shares.


Korea Zinc and its largest shareholder, Youngpoong, have been engaged in fierce shareholding competition over management rights since Chairman Choi's promotion in 2022.


Jang Hyung-jin, an advisor to Youngpoong, purchased 64,801 shares (0.31%) of Korea Zinc through his personal companies CK, HC, and Teranix from the beginning of this year until the 5th. Jang Se-wook, vice chairman of Signetics and nephew of Chairman Jang, who holds a 0.35% stake in Korea Zinc, also bought 243 shares.


The Youngpoong Group's stake stood at 32.27% as of the end of last year.
