Held First Half Livestock Economy Project Promotion and Forage Distribution Revitalization Strategy Meeting
On the 26th, the Gyeongnam Nonghyup held a 2024 first half livestock economy business promotion and forage distribution revitalization strategy meeting at the Gyeongnam Nonghyup Delegates' Conference Room, attended by over 30 people including economic executives from the Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam Livestock Cooperatives.
The meeting was organized to enhance the practical benefits for livestock farmers while preventing various risks, as the management of livestock farms is expected to remain difficult this year due to the increase in Hanwoo slaughter numbers and the continued decline in Hanwoo prices.

Discussions were held on immediate issues such as measures to alleviate difficulties faced by livestock farmers due to falling Hanwoo prices by expanding Hanwoo consumption promotion, strengthening quarantine to block livestock diseases such as ASF, AI, and foot-and-mouth disease, and practicing social contribution through the sharing livestock movement.
As a key project in the livestock economy sector for 2024, in-depth discussions and information exchange were conducted on revitalizing forage distribution, aiming to reduce livestock production costs through forage distribution promotion and to establish sustainable eco-friendly livestock farming through agricultural-livestock recycling.
Additionally, as part of appropriate rice production, various opinions were shared to increase farm income by securing summer forage cultivation areas and ensuring stable forage supply.
Director Jo Geun-su stated, “The livestock industry is going through a difficult period due to the increase in livestock diseases, rising livestock management costs, and falling Hanwoo and pork prices,” adding, “Gyeongnam Nonghyup will actively strive to stabilize livestock farmers' management by promoting Hanwoo consumption events, expanding sales channels, and stabilizing livestock product prices.”
