"Up to 20,000 KRW per hour"… Jung-gu trains and connects 'Hospital Accompaniment Managers' to jobs

Jung-gu District in Seoul will operate a ‘Hospital Accompaniment Manager’ training course next month, providing a seamless path to employment. A ‘Hospital Accompaniment Manager’ is a profession that assists patients by accompanying them from home to the hospital and pharmacy, helping with medical appointments, payments, admissions, and discharges on behalf of their guardians. With the increasing number of single-person households and elderly people, the outlook for this job is promising.

To apply for the ‘Hospital Accompaniment Manager’ training course, applicants must hold at least one qualification among caregiver, social worker, or nurse (including nursing assistant). Applications can be submitted by visiting the Jung-gu Job Plus Center or through the communication participation board on the Jung-gu District Office website by April 18.

The district will recruit 30 trainees on a first-come, first-served basis. If the number of applicants exceeds the quota, priority will be given to Jung-gu residents and middle-aged individuals (40?65 years old).

The training consists of life career planning (6 hours) and theory and practice (8 hours), and will be held at Eulji Unique Factory from April 22 to 25. The course focuses on practical knowledge and service methods tailored to cases involving the elderly, disabled, and patients. Those who complete the course can attend interviews with hiring companies on April 26.

Before the interviews, counselors at the Jung-gu Job Plus Center will provide resume consulting. Even if trainees do not secure employment through this course, counselors will continue to assist them in finding job opportunities.

Once hired as a Hospital Accompaniment Manager, jobs will be assigned considering the service user’s situation and the manager’s travel distance. Compensation is paid hourly at 12,000 to 20,000 KRW based on the hospital accompaniment services provided. This is a good opportunity for those with career interruptions or those who want to work as freelancers.

Kim Gil-seong, Mayor of Jung-gu, said, “The ‘Hospital Accompaniment Manager’ training course is a customized program prepared to proactively respond to social changes such as the increase in single-person households and aging population,” adding, “Jung-gu will continue to quickly read the trends of the times and discover jobs that allow the community and residents to coexist.”
