In particular, it is very popular in Sakhalin, Russia, and has been exported 11 times so far, with an export agreement of 1,000 tons (worth 3 billion KRW) over 10 years.
‘Wando Jayeon Geudaero Mi’ was cultivated by introducing the high-quality ‘Saechungmu’ variety developed by Jeonnam Agricultural Research and Extension Services according to the Rural Development Administration’s export complex promotion project plan, utilizing Wando’s marine resources such as abalone shell powder and seaweed liquid fertilizer.
It is produced by taking advantage of the clean natural environment, including uncontaminated soil and mineral-rich sea breeze, and has been recognized for its excellence both domestically and internationally.
Also, 50,000 bottles of abalone loquat beverage were shipped to Shanghai, Wenzhou, and Qingdao in China. This is the second export of the abalone loquat beverage following September last year.
Last year, Wando-gun agreed with JHE Global to promote sales, publicity, and export expansion of Wando agricultural processed products and to open the Wando-gun China Export Office in Shanghai, China. It also signed an agreement with Shandong Fu Kun Investment Co., Ltd. to export Wando agricultural and marine products worth 10 million USD over five years.
Wando-gun is currently promoting a project to develop agricultural processed products using loquat, yuzu, and abalone targeting the Chinese market.
Governor Shin Woo-cheol said, “The simultaneous export of Wando rice and agricultural processed products to Russia and China is a remarkable achievement that our county’s farmers can take pride in,” adding, “Since the Chinese market is vast, we will strategically approach it to expand exports of agricultural products, thereby contributing to increasing farmers’ income and agricultural development.”
Lee Moon-geol, CEO of JHE Global, and Kang Bin, CEO of Shandong Fu Kun Group, stated, “The abalone loquat beverage is attracting attention as a premium functional beverage in the Chinese market, and Wando-gun’s agricultural and specialty processed products are very popular,” adding, “We will strive to activate sales through various methods such as online and offline channels and live broadcasts.”
