Ultra-large SUV, Neorun Concept Unveiled
On the 25th (local time), Genesis showcased these two new concepts, Neorun and GV60 Magma, for the first time worldwide at 'Genesis House New York' in Manhattan, USA. The Genesis Neorun is an ultra-large SUV in the Genesis lineup. The name combines 'Neo,' meaning new, and 'Luna,' meaning moon, symbolizing Genesis's unique future-oriented and innovative value that differentiates it from existing luxury vehicles. The Neorun adopts a 'reductionist design' that minimizes unnecessary elements. It features a B-pillarless coach door design where the B-pillar connecting the front and rear doors is removed, and the front and rear doors open facing each other. This creates an open interior space and maximizes ease of entry and exit. The first-row seats in the Neorun have a swivel function, allowing passengers to enjoy the practicality of the space when the vehicle is stationary. Additionally, low-power, high-efficiency heating is enabled by attaching radiant heating films to the dashboard, door trims, floor, seat backs, and console sides inside the vehicle.

The Neorun's interior features a deep ambiance created with cashmere in the 'Royal Indigo' color and vintage leather dyed with the natural pigment indigo in 'Purple Silk' color. Dark-toned real wood is applied to the floor to enhance luxury. The Neorun is equipped with electric side steps that automatically activate when the doors open, helping passengers easily get in and out of the vehicle. The exterior of the Neorun applies a two-tone color scheme of 'Midnight Black & Majestic Blue.'
Luke Donkerwolke, Chief Design Officer (CDO) and Chief Creative Officer (CCO) of Hyundai Motor Group's Global Design Division, stated, "The Neorun embodies Genesis's dignity through an original design that conveys the message of 'beauty in simplicity' combined with cutting-edge technology." He added, "It captures timeless beauty and technical perfection, much like Korea's traditional moon jars crafted with artisan spirit."
'High-Performance Luxury' Genesis Magma Also Unveiled
Genesis Magma aims to deliver a high-performance vehicle unique to Genesis that goes beyond mere performance enhancement by integrating cutting-edge technology and sporty design, providing unprecedented driving and driving enjoyment.
The newly revealed GV60 Magma concept is one of the high-performance concepts to be mass-produced following the launch of Genesis Magma. The GV60 Magma concept is optimized for sporty driving with a wide and low body based on the signature orange color of Genesis Magma. The lower air vent on the front bumper functions as an air curtain and efficiently reduces heat from the motor, brakes, and battery. The side features 21-inch titanium-colored wheels and wide fenders emphasizing sportiness. Two air vents on top of the fender are designed to control airflow around the tires and cool brake heat. The interior design finishes the bucket seats with double diamond stitching and uses titanium gray and black Nappa and suede leather, creating a luxurious yet sporty atmosphere.
Donkerwolke said, "Genesis Magma will redefine the concept of luxury through a recombination of driving performance and creativity," adding, "We will continue to present various attempts and experimental concepts considering technology and design."
At the event, Genesis also exhibited the GV60 Magma concept along with the ▲GV80 Coupe Concept ▲G80 Magma Special ▲Genesis X Gran Berlinetta Concept. Genesis plans to showcase these key models together at the 2024 New York Auto Show, which opens on the 27th.
