On the morning of the 25th, Jeong Jong-bok, the head of Busan's Gijang County, met with prospective residents of newly constructed apartments in Ilgwang New Town who were holding a rally in front of the Gijang County Office to listen to their complaints and conduct an on-site consultation.

Busan Jeong Jong-bok, Gijang County Governor - Meeting with New Apartment Residents at Rally Site Jung Jong-bok, the head of Gijang County, is meeting with prospective residents along with related staff to listen to their complaints.

Recently, ahead of the usage inspection of newly constructed apartments being built in the Samsung-ri area of Ilgwang-eup, prospective residents have been opposing the usage inspection of the housing construction project, citing safety concerns such as leaks within units, landslides and wildfire risks in adjacent parks, and other related issues.

On this day, Jeong Jong-bok, the county head, met directly with the prospective residents at the rally site to hear their complaints and instructed, "Thorough reviews must be conducted by the relevant departments regarding the complaints of the prospective residents." He especially emphasized, "More detailed safety inspections are necessary in areas related to resident safety," and added, "Based on the review results requested from specialized institutions regarding disaster risks of adjacent parks and reservoirs, a meticulous inspection should be conducted to ensure residential stability."

The county has been operating its own 'Apartment Quality Inspection Team' to carry out quality checks and has provided administrative guidance to construction stakeholders to thoroughly improve the quality of the apartments by completing the construction process and addressing various defect issues.

Additionally, concerning disaster risks such as landslides, the county is strengthening its own safety inspections and management of adjacent parks and reservoirs, while closely coordinating with related departments and agencies on the usage inspection of the housing construction project. They plan to strictly handle the matter by comprehensively reviewing the supervisor’s opinions and relevant laws and regulations.

Furthermore, even after the usage inspection of the apartments, the county plans to actively support the smooth resolution of various complaints from residents regarding facility defects in accordance with apartment management laws.
