"Different Person Reported"… Hui Moon High School Parents Refute 'Hyun Joo Yeop Power Abuse Allegations'

Allegations Against Huimun Middle School Basketball Coach Raised
"We Only Hope Students Focus on Studying and Sports"

On the 25th, parents of Huimun High School rebutted allegations that Hyun Joo-yeop, the basketball coach of Huimun High School, abused his power in the Huimun Middle School basketball team where his children are active. They also reported that Coach A of the Huimun Middle School basketball team was accused of verbal abuse and assault.


According to Korea Economic Daily, parents of the Huimun High School basketball team mentioned Coach A, stating, "We only hope that this situation is resolved quickly by properly revealing the true nature of their behind-the-scenes actions, which focus on their own interests without considering the students' futures, and that the students can concentrate on their studies and sports in their rightful places."


They further claimed, "We, the parents, have confirmed dozens of instances of verbal abuse, insults, and harsh treatment that are unimaginable for middle school coaches."

The parents raised their voices, saying, "We, the parents, have filed a complaint against Coach A of Huimun Middle School with the police, and we earnestly ask the media, which only spreads one-sided claims about this incident, to uphold the true nature of journalism?fair, impartial, and unbiased reporting."


Meanwhile, on the 18th, the parents of the Huimun High School basketball team stated regarding the allegations of negligence and abuse against Coach Hyun, "Neither Coach Hyun himself nor the parents were interviewed, and only one side's claims were reported as facts, severely distorting the truth."


They also clarified the allegations by saying, "Even when training was not missed due to filming, the coach always attended night or weekend training sessions to make up for any shortcomings, which we know very well." They added, "Compared to the previous coach, the training time and volume were significantly greater."
