Freshman yachtsmen from Dongmyung University (President Jeon Ho-hwan) succeeded in winning medals.
This year’s incoming yacht prospects won silver and bronze medals at the 21st National Yacht Competition hosted by the Korea Coast Guard Commissioner, which also served as the national team selection event.
At the competition held from the 21st to the 25th in Geoje, Gyeongnam, Dongmyung University’s Lim Seong-jun won the silver medal in the Formula Kite Men’s College General division, and Son Gwang-hee took the bronze medal in the ILCA7 Men’s College division.
At the 21st National Yacht Competition and National Team Selection hosted by the Korea Coast Guard, Dongmyeong University athletes Son Kwanghee (left) and Lim Seongjun won silver and bronze medals, respectively.
Through this competition, Lim earned national team ranking points. Kim Min-seul (Formula Kite) unfortunately failed to win a medal due to a shortage of races caused by bad weather conditions.
The next competition, the Presidential Cup National Yacht Competition, is scheduled to be held from April 11 to 15 in Buan-gun, Jeonbuk. All three Dongmyung University rookie athletes are aiming to win medals.
Do-ing (Challenge·Experience·Practice) Dongmyung University recently rose to the top of college football just two months after its founding and is emerging as a prestigious sports school, including winning its first medal since the establishment of the K-sports Taekwondo Department.
