Cheonan City Council Conducts Citizen Awareness Survey on City's 'Symbol Mark'

The Cheonan City Council in Chungnam has begun reviewing the need to evaluate and replace the city’s symbol mark.

The Cheonan City Council’s “Cheonan City Urban Brand and Symbol Mark Research Group” held its second meeting on the 25th to discuss the implementation plan for a “Citizen Awareness Survey on Cheonan City’s Symbol Mark.”

During the meeting, council members discussed the direction and content of the awareness survey, including △ gathering opinions from citizens of various ages, occupations, and regions △ presenting visual materials such as comparative analyses of symbol marks to generate interest in the survey △ increasing participation through event surveys like nudge trash bins △ including questions about Cheonan City’s image and keywords.

As a result of the meeting, the council members decided to complete the citizen awareness survey by April or May and plan a study visit to Gyeonggi Province and Suwon City around June 13?14.

Representative council member Lee Ji-won stated, “Just as a company’s symbol mark symbolically represents the philosophy of the company or product, it is necessary to directly ask and confirm with citizens whether Cheonan City’s symbol mark presents the city’s philosophy, history, and vision for the future.”

Meanwhile, the “Cheonan City Urban Brand and Symbol Mark Research Group” selected Nene Planning as the contractor to conduct the policy research on “Evaluation and Necessity of Replacement of Cheonan City’s Symbol Mark.” They plan to carry out the citizen awareness survey, study visits to advanced sites, and expert forums by July.
