Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 25th that it has selected and announced nine representative tourist attractions loved by residents and tourists.
From February 5 to 25, the county collected recommendations on representative tourist attractions, seasonal recommended travel destinations, and photo-worthy spots from Geochang residents and tourists through the county office website and Instagram. After the first departmental review and the second county administration coordination committee deliberation, nine representative tourist attractions, six seasonal recommended travel destinations each, and nine photo-worthy spots were decided.
The representative tourist attractions were selected by comprehensively considering the recommendation results, geographical location, regional adjacency, tourism consumption creation effect based on visit frequency, symbolism, historicity, and other values for utilization as tourism resources. The selection of seasonal recommended travel destinations and photo-worthy spots was based on the places with many recommendations.
The nine selected representative tourist attractions are ▲Geochang Anti-Aging Healing Land ▲Geochang Changpowon ▲Suseungdae Tourist Site ▲Wolseong Valley ▲Geochang Beolbaram Hill (Gamak Mountain) ▲Family Hot Spring Tourist Site ▲Ppaejae Forest Leisure Sports Park ▲Geumwonsan Natural Recreation Forest ▲Geochang Incident Memorial Park.
The county plans to use these representative tourist attractions, seasonal recommended travel destinations, and photo-worthy spots as official external promotional materials to establish the ‘Geochang Tourism Brand’ at a higher level.
Additionally, a new integrated name for Geochang tourism, “Geochang Haguna! Gugyeonggase!” has been introduced.
By integrating and managing tourist information from east, west, south, and north, and creating various local attractions into a single artistic picture, it is expected to play a significant role in achieving Geochang-gun’s goal of attracting a ‘living population of one million people.’
County Governor Gu In-mo said, “We selected representative tourist attractions, seasonal recommended travel destinations, and photo-worthy spots to invigorate the local economy through strategic tourism promotion and increase the living population,” adding, “This year, we will actively work on promoting Geochang tourism so that many people can shout ‘Geochang Haguna~ Gugyeonggase!’”
