Seokchon Lake Ranks No.1 in Visitors for 2 Consecutive Years
SKT Adds Cherry Blossom Spot Congestion to A.Dot
Provides Expected Congestion by Time and Visitor Age Groups

Seokchon Lake ranked first as the most visited place during last year's cherry blossom season.


SK Telecom announced on the 25th that after analyzing the cherry blossom season data from 2022 and last year, Seokchon Lake was ranked number one in visitor numbers for two consecutive years. Last year, Jamwon Hangang Park, Maehun Citizen's Forest, and Mulwang Lake emerged as new popular spots.


By age group, people in their 20s preferred downtown Seoul, while those in their 30s and 40s sought parks suitable for outings with children. Those aged 50 and above were found to mainly visit outskirts of Gyeonggi Province.

Additionally, SKT will add congestion information for 37 cherry blossom spots to its AI personal assistant 'A. Dot' for the cherry blossom season.


By providing information about crowded places, it aims to offer useful references for cherry blossom outings. The A. Dot congestion service, launched in November last year, provides congestion information for subways and public places based on data from communication equipment such as base stations.

SKT stated, "We expect A. Dot to help users enjoy a comfortable outing by providing information on expected congestion by day and time, real-time congestion, recent visit trends, and visitor age distribution at popular cherry blossom spots."


Yoon Hyun-sang, head of interaction at SKT AI Service Division, said, "We will continue to provide a competitive AI assistant experience using SKT's big data and technology through A. Dot."
