Government Provides Subsidies for Installing Public Electric Vehicle Chargers

SK E&S announced on the 25th that its subsidiary, ParkingCloud, the No.1 mobile-based parking platform company in Korea, has been selected as an executing agency for the Ministry of Environment's electric vehicle charging facility subsidy project this year.

The electric vehicle charging facility subsidy project provides subsidies for the installation of shared electric vehicle charging facilities in multi-family housing, workplaces, large-scale parking lots, and other locations.

Executing agencies are selected through a comprehensive evaluation of various indicators such as business conditions, charging specifications, project execution plans, and operation management, among operators capable of installing and managing charging facilities. ParkingCloud was selected as an executing agency in both the fast and slow charging categories in this public offering.

ParkingCloud operates more than 7,000 directly managed and affiliated parking lots. Its electric vehicle charging brand is 'i PARKING EV.'

ParkingCloud customers can use the i PARKING integrated application (app), which links electric vehicle charging and parking, to search for charging stations, enjoy cardless easy charging, check charging status, and make payments.

The integrated center operates 24/7, 365 days a year. SK E&S stated about ParkingCloud, "We support charging equipment management and after-sales service (AS), and all charging stations are equipped with fire accident prevention facilities." They added, "We are strengthening safety by applying insurance policies."

ParkingCloud plans to analyze entry and exit data from i PARKING parking lots nationwide to prioritize the installation of charging stations in locations with high foot traffic and frequent electric vehicle access. By the end of this year, it will expand its infrastructure by launching services that simplify charger authentication procedures using artificial intelligence (AI) license plate recognition (LPR) technology.
