GS25 Half-Price Parcel Service Now Available to Ulleungdo, Yeonpyeongdo, and Baengnyeongdo

GS Retail's convenience store GS25 announced on the 24th that from the 25th, it will expand its own parcel delivery service, Half-Price Parcel, to Ulleungdo, Yeonpyeongdo, and Baengnyeongdo. Following Jeju Island, GS25 is the first in the industry to expand its own parcel delivery service to island regions.

Half-Price Parcel is an ultra-low-cost parcel delivery service first introduced by GS25 in 2019 using its own logistics infrastructure. The service structure allows sending and receiving parcels through GS25 stores, and it is characterized by being available at about half the price of regular parcel delivery.

Thanks to the demand for Half-Price Parcel exceeding 10 million cases annually and 30 million cases cumulatively, GS25 expanded the service from the existing 'inland-to-inland' focus to 'Jeju-to-inland' in October last year, and now further expands the service range to Ulleungdo, Yeonpyeongdo, and Baengnyeongdo.

A GS25 official explained, "With this, Half-Price Parcel can be used through GS25 stores nationwide except for Marado, effectively completing a Half-Price Parcel service network that covers the living areas of the entire nation."

The prices for sending Half-Price Parcels to the three island regions are ▲up to 500g: 3,500 KRW ▲up to 1kg: 3,900 KRW ▲up to 5kg: 4,300 KRW. Considering the efficiency of parcel collection and ferry schedules, Ulleungdo receives deliveries three times a week (every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday), Yeonpyeongdo once a week (every Thursday), and Baengnyeongdo once a week (every Saturday) on designated days. Parcels must be submitted 5 to 7 days before the designated arrival date to ensure delivery within the period.

Initially, the service will focus on receiving Half-Price Parcels in the three island regions. GS25 plans to analyze the volume of outgoing parcels and optimize the logistics network to develop the service into a form that allows both sending and receiving.

To commemorate the expansion of the Half-Price Parcel service to Ulleungdo, Yeonpyeongdo, and Baengnyeongdo, GS25 will hold a special promotion until the end of next month, allowing customers to send Half-Price Parcels to these three island regions and Jeju for as low as 100 KRW.

The promotion includes ▲an immediate discount of 1,700 KRW ▲and 1,700 GS& Points credited when paying with GS Pay, offering a total discount benefit worth 3,400 KRW. Customers who send a Half-Price Parcel up to 500g (regular price 3,500 KRW) to the island regions and pay with GS Pay can use the service for only 100 KRW.
