Shinan-gun Hosts Special Exhibition of Bunjajeongwon Maekjanamu Bonsai

Exhibition of Over 100 Myungja Trees Bonsai... A Meeting of Beauty and Culture

Shinan-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Park Woo-ryang) is holding a special exhibition of Maengja tree bonsai at the 1004 Island Bonsai Garden from the 22nd of last month until the 14th of next month.

According to the county on the 23rd, this exhibition displays about 100 Maengja tree bonsai along the main walkway and in the glass greenhouse, providing visitors with an opportunity to appreciate the beautiful Maengja tree flowers.

The Maengja tree is a deciduous shrub belonging to the Rosaceae family. Its flowers are unisexual and bloom singly or in clusters at the tips of short branches, appearing in various colors such as pink, red, and pale shades from April to May. The fruit is oval-shaped, about 10 cm long, and bluish-yellow in color.

This special exhibition of Maengja tree bonsai was organized to offer diverse attractions every month at the Bonsai Garden and to widely promote bonsai culture. By providing new attractions to local residents and visitors, it aims not only to contribute to the revitalization of local culture but also to emphasize the beauty and importance of bonsai culture.

A county official stated, “Through various special bonsai exhibitions planned every month, we will take the lead in spreading bonsai culture,” and added, “We ask for your great interest and participation.”

Meanwhile, after the Maengja tree bonsai special exhibition at the 1004 Island Bonsai Garden ends on the 14th of next month, a special exhibition of azalea bonsai will be held, and visitors will be welcomed with a new themed special exhibition every month.
