Lightron to Participate in OFCNFOEC 2024 Exhibition in the USA

Lighton, a specialized manufacturer of optical communication module components (CEO Park Chan-hee), announced on the 22nd that it will participate in OFCNFOEC 2024, the world's largest exhibition in the optical communication field.

The company plans to showcase customer-oriented products such as the ‘PSM4 BiDi SFP’ and the ‘Narrow band Tunable SFP’ at this exhibition.

The PSM4 (Parallel Single Mode 4) product addresses the current situation where four optical modules (SFPs) installed in RU equipment require the same number of optical modules in DU equipment for control. By using one PSM4 optical module on the DU side, it is possible to individually control the four optical modules on the RU side. This product offers customers advantages such as miniaturization of DU equipment, expanded availability of ports, reduced optical module purchase costs, and lower power consumption.

The core OSA (Optical Sub-Assembly) for manufacturing this PSM4 has already been recognized for its functionality and quality by overseas clients, resulting in initial mass production orders. Currently, 40G PSM4 and 100G PSM4 have been developed in both Duplex and BiDi types, and discussions are underway with customers for mass production supply.

The ‘Narrow band Tunable SFP’ is designed for customers who cannot use Full band Tunable SFP due to cost issues at DWDM wavelengths. This product is manufactured as a Tunable SFP for only the specific wavelength band used by the customer. This allows maintaining the functional advantages of Tunable SFP while resolving cost concerns.

Additionally, considering the increasingly harsh external environment each year, the company will exhibit various products such as the ‘Superior Temperature SFP,’ which expands the high-temperature operating range; the ‘25G long reach SFP,’ which enables long-distance transmission using EDC functionality; the ‘Monitoring (tentative name) SFP,’ which quickly identifies faulty parts when network signal abnormalities occur; and the ‘Wavelength Checker,’ which can check CWDM, LWDM, and DWDM wavelengths all in one portable device.

A company representative stated, “In addition to participating in this exhibition, we plan to accelerate our overseas market expansion this year by actively participating in major optical communication exhibitions in the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.”
