Jo Guk, leader of the Jo Guk Innovation Party, who has recently been riding a wave of rising approval ratings, visited his hometown of Busan on the 21st to appeal for support.

That afternoon, Jo addressed the crowd of citizens gathered in front of a department store in Busan, saying, "In one poll, my approval rating surpassed 30%," and "I have received miraculous support of 31.5% in Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam." He then greeted them in the Busan dialect, saying, "Eoksuro (very) gamsahamnida (thank you)."

He said, "If the citizens of Busan lend their strength, we will swallow up the Yoon Seok-yeol prosecution dictatorship regime." He continued, "The person who thinks the price of a bunch of green onions is 875 won is our country's president. Shame and despair belong to the people," he shouted. Then he warned President Yoon in the Busan dialect, saying, "Now goma chiara ma (stop hitting). Only Busan people can understand this. It means not to shut the people's mouths but to shut your own mouth."

Jo said, "I have experienced the destruction of my family by Yoon Seok-yeol's prosecution. I have nothing to lose. Therefore, I have no fear. With the determination that endured the endless hell, I will stand at the forefront. The Jo Guk Innovation Party will unite with the people and see this through to the end."

Jo also said, "I have never forgotten the courage of the citizens of Busan who sparked the blue flame to restore democracy and end the Yushin regime. I have never forgotten the death of martyr Park Jong-cheol, a junior at Hyegwang High School, which became the ignition point for ending the Chun Doo-hwan military regime. I will take a leading role to ensure that the spirit of the Bu-Ma uprising is included in the preamble of the 7th Republic Constitution."

He continued, "The Jo Guk Innovation Party will take the lead in ending the power that destroys democracy and ruins people's livelihoods as soon as possible. We will do everything possible to ensure a thorough investigation and punishment of those responsible for the death of Corporal Chae, the investigation pressure case, and the Itaewon disaster," clenching his fist. Afterwards, Jo met with citizens while traveling by subway to Seomyeon Station.

That day, Jo held a press conference in the briefing room of the Busan City Council and pledged that the Jo Guk Innovation Party would push for a national investigation into the allegations of election manipulation by President Yoon Seok-yeol immediately after the opening of the 22nd National Assembly.

He said, "Who would believe it if the Moon Jae-in government abandoned all good policies and said it would create a special law for Busan ahead of the general election? Didn't President Yoon say he would enact a special law for Busan? He will change his words after the general election." He then questioned, "Will there also be separate special laws for Ulsan and Gyeongnam in the future?"

He added, "If Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam cooperate with each other to create a synergistic effect, they can compete sufficiently with the metropolitan area. That is the balanced national development that former President Roh Moo-hyun dreamed of and the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam megacity that former Governor Kim Kyung-soo pursued."
