Kim Dong-hwan, President of Seoul National University of Science and Technology, and Jang Shin-ho, President of Seoul National University of Education, who took office in December last year, reported assets worth around 2 billion KRW.

The Government Official Ethics Committee published the asset registration details of 110 individuals subject to the March special asset disclosure in the official gazette on the 22nd. The subjects are former and current high-ranking officials whose status changed between December 2 last year and January 1 this year.

President Kim reported assets totaling 2,739,906,000 KRW. Among the reported assets, an apartment owned in Gaepo-dong, Gangnam, Seoul, accounted for the largest portion at 1,490,000,000 KRW. A residential-commercial complex building in Songpa, Seoul, valued at approximately 1,308,000,000 KRW, followed.

Additionally, deposits amounting to 333,160,000 KRW and debts of 709,960,000 KRW were reported, including those of his spouse, mother, and second daughter. President Kim's eldest daughter refused to disclose her asset registration citing "independent livelihood maintenance."

Jang Shin-ho, President of Seoul National University of Education, reported assets totaling 2,586,101,000 KRW.

The largest portion of the reported assets was an apartment with a jeonse (lease) right in Dongjak-gu, Seoul, valued at 970,000,000 KRW.

He owns a 2023 Mercedes-Benz (90,000,000 KRW) and a 2015 Santa Fe (20,000,000 KRW). He also reported 50,000,000 KRW in cash under his name, debts of 91,780,000 KRW, and family deposits totaling 1,241,110,000 KRW. Securities under his spouse's name amount to approximately 51,770,000 KRW.
