Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 21st that it will promote the discovery of effective policies to restore people’s livelihoods.
Starting from the 25th, all 46 departments of the Gwangsan District Office will engage in on-site dialogues with various economic actors such as small business owners, vulnerable groups, related organizations, and relevant institutions to listen to their difficulties and seek solutions together.
Gwangsan-gu will connect experts in each field to ensure that the on-site dialogues lead to effective policy discovery by supporting accurate situation analysis and concrete policy formulation.
They will also promote a public proposal contest for citizens’ ideas to overcome the economic crisis and revitalize livelihoods. The purpose is to reflect citizens’ voices from the stage of establishing livelihood stabilization policies. The contest is expected to begin as early as the end of this month, and outstanding proposals will be awarded prize money after review by each department.
Based on these on-site dialogues across all departments and the collection of citizens’ voices, a sharing meeting chaired by the district mayor will be held in April to refine the framework of livelihood revitalization policies by sector. Projects that can be implemented immediately will be promoted, while proposals requiring institutional improvement or long-term review will seek execution plans such as budget reflection.
Park Byeong-gyu, mayor of Gwangsan-gu, stated, “The focus of Gwangsan district administration this year is ‘people’s livelihoods.’ Through communication with various economic actors, all public officials will enhance their capabilities and gather citizens’ wisdom to discover and promote vibrant livelihood policies.”
