Presentation of Commemorative Plaque to Former President
Resolution to Promote Three Projects in 2024
The Gyeongnam Goseong County Branch of the National Village Leaders Association held the '2024 Regular General Meeting and 1st Quarter Regular Meeting' on the 21st at the Agricultural Technology Center's small conference room, attended by 30 people including Lee Sang-geun, Goseong County Governor, Choi Eul-seok, Chairman of the Goseong County Council, former and current town and township council presidents, and related officials.
At this regular general meeting, the following were approved: ▲Report on major business achievements in 2023 ▲2023 revenue and expenditure settlement (draft) ▲Settlement of the 19th Goseong County Village Leaders Unity Festival in 2023 (draft) ▲Settlement of the 2023 domestic training for exemplary village leaders of Goseong County (draft) ▲2023 basic business plan and revenue and expenditure budget (draft) ▲Amendment of the bylaws.
Additionally, it was resolved to ambitiously promote three distinctive projects in the second half of this year: ▲Overseas training for town and township presidents ▲Domestic training for exemplary village leaders and town and township presidents ▲The 20th Goseong County Village Leaders Unity Festival.
On this day, commemorative plaques and agricultural product gift certificates worth 200,000 KRW were presented to and the following former village leaders who have devoted themselves to creating vibrant villages were encouraged: Jeon Seung-ho, former president of the Gaecheon-myeon Village Leaders Association; Lee Gap-do, former president of the Hoihwa-myeon Village Leaders Association; and Jeong Gyeong-ho, former president of the Maam-myeon Village Leaders Association.
Through this general meeting, the county also conveyed promotional matters regarding three urgent issues: ▲Promotion of fair elections for the 22nd National Assembly election ▲Implementation of citizen safety insurance in 2024 ▲Launch of the Goseong Cultural Tourism Foundation, and requested cooperation from the Goseong County Village Leaders Association.
Governor Lee Sang-geun said in his greeting, “Thanks to the passionate efforts and active cooperation of the village leaders association presidents, we have been able to create a brighter and healthier Goseong County,” and added, “I ask for your continued deep affection, interest, and active cooperation for the county.”
Branch President Do Jong-guk stated, “At the forefront of administration, 265 village leaders in Goseong County are fulfilling their duties with a firm belief that ‘I protect my village’ to enhance residents’ convenience and develop the local community,” and said, “Let us take the lead in all matters this year as well to ensure the happiness of Goseong citizens and improve their quality of life.”
