She also attended the joint meeting of the Democratic Party and the Democratic United Front Gwangju Field Central Campaign Committee held at the Kim Dae-jung Convention Center in Gwangju.

Jeon said, “I felt deeply sorry when paying respects at the National 5·18 Democratic Cemetery. It is heartbreaking that the regime insults democracy to this extent,” and emphasized, “Our Gwangju will not tolerate any acts that belittle the spirit of 5·18 and democracy.”

She continued, “April 10 will be a day to rebuild democracy,” and expressed her determination to win the April general election together with the citizens of Gwangju and move toward a mature democratic society.

She also stated, “I will open a better tomorrow for Gwangju together with the Democratic Party,” and emphasized, “To achieve balanced regional development, we will attract future new industries, which are currently concentrated in the metropolitan area, to Gwangju to become a new driving force for the region’s future development.”

Furthermore, she said, “We will join forces with the Democratic Party to steadily promote the semiconductor and AI cluster and the advanced medical specialized industrial complex being established in the high-tech area of Buk-gu, Gwangju,” adding, “If Gwangju’s high-tech industrial complexes expand, youth jobs linked to high-tech industries will increase, leading to a vibrant and youthful Gwangju.”
