JLK, a KOSDAQ-listed company, is gaining attention by recruiting a neurovascular radiology expert.

AI medical specialist JLK (CEO Dongmin Kim) announced on the 21st that it has appointed Dr. Jun Sunwoo, a radiology specialist, as its Vice Chief Medical Officer (Vice CMO).

Dr. Jun Sunwoo graduated from Seoul National University College of Medicine and earned his master's and doctoral degrees from the same institution. He is a neurovascular radiology specialist and a medical AI expert who has conducted extensive research in the diagnosis of brain diseases using artificial intelligence.

JLK CEO Dongmin Kim stated, “By recruiting Dr. Jun Sunwoo, a neurovascular radiology expert, we expect to establish a perfect collaboration system between neurology and radiology departments dealing with cerebrovascular diseases, which will maximize our company's technological capabilities related to stroke image analysis.”

JLK is a company that succeeded in establishing its presence in the domestic non-reimbursed AI medical market last year with its solution JBS-01K (JLK-DWI). This year, it is pursuing AI medical device applications for five of its solutions through the U.S. FDA 510(k) process.

The company plans to advance the clinical and technical sophistication of its AI solutions for cerebrovascular diseases and develop additional technologies to meet the needs of the radiology field, based on the recruitment of various AI and medical talents. It also intends to strengthen clinical evidence generation and usability enhancement for its AI solutions.

In particular, starting with entry into the U.S. market, which holds an overwhelmingly dominant position in the global medical market, JLK is expected to expand the distribution of its medical AI solutions to countries such as Japan and Southeast Asia, drawing significant attention.
