On the 21st, Meritz Securities stated that the mass production timing of augmented reality (AR) glasses could be earlier than expected, and they expect Sapien Semiconductor to benefit from this.

Yang Seung-su, a researcher at Meritz Securities, said, "Sapien Semiconductor possesses customized technology for AR glasses," and explained, "The display specifications required by big tech companies developing AR glasses include ▲small pixel size (2~10 μm) ▲high luminance ▲low power consumption."

He added, "Sapien Semiconductor's micro LED technology will attract attention," and noted, "Unlike virtual reality (VR), which implements virtual worlds indoors, AR must render images outdoors, making high luminance an essential factor."

He expressed expectations that "compared to organic OLEDs, inorganic LED has higher luminous efficiency, so the utilization of micro LED technology will increase in the AR era."
