Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education Begins Distributing 'Student Education Allowance'

The Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education began distributing the Jeonnam Student Education Allowance to all elementary school students in Jeonnam Province on the 20th.


According to the Office of Education, the allowance will be paid monthly on the 20th until February next year, in amounts ranging from 50,000 to 100,000 KRW, using voucher card points issued upon application by parents.

Students attending elementary schools in 16 counties of Jeonnam (excluding Muan County) will receive 100,000 KRW per person each month, while students in 5 city areas and Muan County will receive 50,000 KRW per person each month.


The Jeonnam Student Education Allowance must be used at 59 types of businesses affiliated with NH Card that align with the purpose of the allowance operation and support student educational and experiential activities. It cannot be used for subjects such as Korean, English, and Math tutoring. Additionally, usage at general restaurants or as a transportation card is restricted, and any remaining balance can be accumulated and carried over for use until December 15.


In this regard, Superintendent Kim Dae-jung visited Hwawon Nonghyup with Jeonnam Headquarters Director Jeong Jae-heon of Nonghyup Bank on the same day to discuss continuous cooperation plans to enhance educational welfare and regional development.


Superintendent Kim Dae-jung said, “I hope students make good use of the Jeonnam Student Education Allowance points recharged every month to nurture their self-directed dreams,” adding, “We will support creating a Jeonnam that is good for education so that students can freely realize their dreams.”
