CJ Group Chairman Lee Jae-hyun Received 9.936 Billion KRW in Compensation Last Year

55.1% Decrease Compared to Last Year... Reflecting Subsidiary Underperformance

Lee Jae-hyun, chairman of CJ Group, received a total compensation of 9.936 billion KRW last year.


According to disclosures from CJ and its major affiliates on the 20th, Chairman Lee received 4.173 billion KRW from the holding company, 3.64 billion KRW from CJ CheilJedang, and 2.123 billion KRW from CJ ENM, respectively.


Chairman Lee's compensation this year decreased by 55.1% compared to 22.136 billion KRW the previous year, reflecting the poor performance of the affiliates.

CJ CheilJedang's consolidated operating profit last year, including Hanjin Transportation, was preliminarily estimated at 1.2916 trillion KRW, down 22.4% from the previous year. CJ ENM recorded a consolidated operating loss of 14.6 billion KRW last year, marking the first deficit since its predecessors CJ O Shopping and CJ E&M merged in 2018.


Sohn Kyung-shik, chairman of CJ Group, received 3.55 billion KRW in compensation from CJ CheilJedang last year. Chairman Sohn received 7.114 billion KRW in 2022, which decreased by 50.1% last year.


Lee Jae-hyun’s sister, Vice Chairman Lee Mi-kyung, received 2.341 billion KRW in compensation from CJ ENM, a 42.6% decrease compared to 4.081 billion KRW the previous year.
