Participants distributed promotional materials related to tuberculosis prevention and provided guidance and counseling on tuberculosis screening and symptoms.

At the event venue, various side events were held, including a tuberculosis knowledge O·X quiz, mobile tuberculosis screening with chest X-rays, and sputum tests, all available free of charge.

A representative of the Korea Tuberculosis Association Gwangju-Jeonnam Branch explained, “Tuberculosis is a respiratory infectious disease caused by the tuberculosis bacteria. If a cough persists for more than two weeks, a tuberculosis test should be taken. The main symptoms include cough, fever, night sweats, and weight loss.”

They added, “Tuberculosis bacteria are expelled into the air through coughing, sneezing, or talking by patients with active pulmonary tuberculosis. It is a disease that can be cured if detected early and treated consistently, so prevention and management are important.”
